Tune your car yourself

If you have your mechanic tunes in your car, you know, it's not cheap. Most people who are not mechanics have no other choice but to pay someone else. Not true! And the auto-tune is something every car owner should know how to do that, simply because the more independent ... but also can save money.

There are some things you just can not do it alone, and control of complex electronic sensors in today's advanced engines. Do you pay your mechanic to do it. But it is possible that your car Humming along without paying through the nose. Here are seven simple things every car owner should know how to do it (yes, even you ladies who do not fancy yourself grease monkey). Your car owner’s manual will tell you where your engine parts that you need a tune.

First, you fuel filter. This can be your gas mileage and extend the life of your engine.

Secondly, change the oil filter. Oil lubricates the engine. The oil filter keeps your oil clean to do their job well. Replace the filter at any time to change oil, which is likely to be in every 3000 to 5000 km.

Third, change their oil. This is one of you should know how to do it, but that does not do it (disposal of used motor oil is a little sore throat and your drives are set up). You'll probably pay $ 25-50, that someone did, and you yourself, for most cars. It is a simple way to save money.

Fourth, addition of liquid. This includes a windshield washer fluid and your engine oil. Learn how to develop their oil with a dipstick opening. There is no excuse not to know how to do it on their own. Why pay someone per hour of work just to do what you can do yourself, about three minutes, while you fill your gas tank?

Fifthly, the belts. You must have time to manipulate the belt drives, but if others contribute, you can.

Sixth, self-service battery. You may need to add distilled water (your guide to help you know) from time to time. But you can always clean the cables and connectors for corrosion control. Seventh, modifying the wiper blades. This wins the "simple" price.

Almost all auto-parts store (Auto Zone, etc.) have the right blade for your car, or can be obtained. Follow the instructions on the pack and you have a clean glass in all weather, and you will find your road.

And the car is not difficult to tune, and not expensive. You can not do everything alone (and not worth your time if you can), but a few things you can bundle a next time you go to your mechanic.
